Britain’s Prince Harry Thanked ‘granny’ Late Queen Elizabeth

PRINCE HARRY- The Britain’s prince offered a very personal homage to his late ‘granny’ Queen Elizabeth who died last Thusday.

The prince expressed his gratitude for their prescious time together and his commitment to upholding his father’s rule as the new king.

Harry, who retired from the royal family in 2020 along with his wife Meghan Markle, hailed the queen’s service as head of state and monarch in a statement and also talked movingly about her role as a grandmother.

“Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings – from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren,” he said.

“I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over.” he added.

Based on the report of GMA News, He lauded her “unwavering grace and dignity” and dedication to duty and claimed that she was well-liked and respected throughout the world. He and Meghan lost contact with the family after stepping down from their official royal responsibilities, including his father, now King Charles, and they gave harsh criticism of Buckingham Palace and how they had been handled.

Charles has professed his admiration for the couple ever since becoming king last Thursday after the queen passed away at the age of 96.

“As it comes to first meetings, we now honor my father in his new role as King Charles III,” Prince Harry said.

The report mentioned that due to their recent move to California, where they now reside with their two young children, Harry and Meghan were only in Britain at the time of the queen’s passing because they were coincidentally there to attend a number of charity events. On the visit before the queen’s passing, they had not even been expected to talk to their close relatives.

In a display of solidarity on Saturday that alluded to the possibility of a reconciliation following the passing of their grandmother, Harry and Meghan appeared unexpectedly with Prince William for a walkabout outside Windsor Castle.

According to a royal insider, it was a significant act of family togetherness during a very trying moment for the family.
