SASSA GURL- The online sensation talks about hardships in life that he experienced and all the lesson that he get all the way to his success.

Sassa Gurl has come a long way since she started posting Filipino-themed TikTok skits. She was chosen as a calendar model for a liquor company and appeared on the Pride Month cover of Preview magazine.

Sassa Gurl stays true to her roots despite her success. She wore a dress constructed from the traditional striped blankets that every Filipino home has to the recently attended Preview Ball.

In recent episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” Felix Petate or well known as Sassa Gurl talks about hardships and struggle that he experience and his family.

“May mga araw na toyo, mantika [ang ulam namin]. Diyos ko konti na lang magiging adobo na ako, madam. Ngayon nadala ko ‘yung pagiging matipid ko kasi natatakot din ako mawalan ulit,” he said.

Based on the report of GMA News, Sassa stated that her mother worked as a houskeeper for over 30 years and strive hard until Sassa finished his degree at Far Eastern University.

“Parang sobrang daming utang na nagawa namin ng nanay ko. Minsan hindi ako pumapasok kasi wala akong pang baon e ang layo ng school. Minsan nagmamakaawa sa teacher kasi ano, wala pang pambayad,” he added.

As the pandemic started Sassa lose his hope to find a stable job to help his family just like many Filipinos experienced, in order to get rid of boredom during pandemic Sassa use his skills as a communication graduate and began creating funny videos in TikTik.

“Ang lala ng lockdown, walang pera, walang trabaho. Ang ginawa ko triny kong, para mawala  ‘yung bagot ko sa buhay nagbidyo-bidyo ako. Nagkaroon ng engagement,” he said.
