PAGASA Says Severe Tropical Storm Inday to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that severe tropical storm Inday will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (September 10, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Severe tropical storm Inday will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Severe Tropical Storm “INDAY” has been last spotted at 495 km East of Basco, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 135 moving West Northwestward at 20 kph.

Inday will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

“Possible na mahagip itong Batanes and even Babuyan group of islands, possible tayong magtaas ng tropical cyclone wind signal worst-case scenario po natin ‘yan,” PAGASA weather forecaster Benison Estareja said. 

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Northern Samar, rest of the Visayas as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The severe tropical storm is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by late Tuesday (September 13) or early Wednesday (September 14) next week.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over the seaboards of Batanes and Babuyan Islands will be moderate to rough. Mariners using small seacrafts were advised to be cautious when venturing out to sea.
