Koronadal National Comprehensive High School Principal Denies Mandating “No uniform, No entry” Policy
Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS) principal Mr. Valentin Dignadice has denied the alleged implementation of “No uniform, No entry” policy.
On Monday (September 5, 2022), Mr. Valentin Dignadice clarified that he did not release an order to implement “No uniform, No entry” policy. The principal explained he never made such a mandate to students.
Dignadice explained that he was just encouraging the students to wear school uniforms if possible. However, the school personnel clarified that his announcement is just optional and not mandatory.
The school principal also explained that he recognizes the mandate of Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte that wearing of school uniforms is not mandatory in public schools.
Last June 2022, Vice President Sara Duterte issued a directive that school uniforms will not be required for School Year 2022 to 2023 to avoid additional expenses for families of students.
“Even before the pandemic, it is not a strict requirement for public schools to wear uniforms (Department of Education Order No. 065, s. 2010) to avoid incurring additional costs to the families of our learners,” Sara said.
Duterte explained that the measure has been made for this school year amid the increasing prices and economic losses due to the pandemic.
DepEd also gives schools flexibility to utilize distance learning modalities, blended learning, or full face-to-face classes.
