PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (August 31)

The state weather bureau PAGASA released the latest updates on Super typhoon Hinnamnor and tropical depression Gardo.

On Wednesday (August 31, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Super typhoon Hinnamnor and tropical depression Gardo will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that tropical depression Gardo has been last spotted at 1,130 km east of extreme northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

However, Gardo is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country.

Super typhoon Hinnamnor has been last spotted at 1,170km east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 195kph and gustiness of up of 240kph moving at 30 kph.

Hinnamnor is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday evening. It is expected to recurve once it enters PAR and may not make a landfall. However, tropical cyclone wind signals might be raised over parts of northern Luzon.

“Sa paglapit nitong si supertyphoon Henry, maaari tayong magtaas ng tropical cyclone wind signal, kaya naman antabayanan yung mga susunod na updates na ilalabas natin,” PAGASA weather forecaster Patrick del Mundo said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and central Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
