These are the realizations of Julia Barretto after portraying this role.

JULIA BARRETTO – “Expensive Candy” actress Julia Barretto shares her learning and realizations over her newest role.

Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla‘s daughter Julia Barretto have followed their footsteps in the show business industry. But this time around, Julia became brave exploring other roles she can play. She is no longer limiting herself to playing the goody characters in a project.

Her newest film is “Expensive Candy” and her leading man is Carlo Aquino. It is a story of a woman who is a night worker and a male teacher who fell in love with her. Having herself immersed in the said role, the actress shared something – some of her learnings and realizations.

For one, she accepted the role because it has a great story. Also, she couldn’t say “no” to her director JP Laxamana. And one of her preparations is to talk to real-life workers. She went to the “walking street” in Angeles City and learned from the workers in the Area how such a job is done in order for her to effectively portray it in the movie.

She studied their dance moves and she actually found a friend in the persona of the person in reference to her Candy character. And having herself immersed in it, she found herself paying high respect to night workers.

“I admire them so much and I have so much respect for them,” she said. The actress then added based on a report from PEP, “It was very challenging. This movie really challenged me in a very physical way, mentally and emotionally, just being comfortable in the outfits that I had to wear, in front of a lot of different people.”

In this film, she realized that being sultry and being seductive are two different things. According to the director, among the selling factors of the film are the dance numbers of Julia.
