When she learned that emergency personnel had taken graphic photos of her dead husband and daughter in the debris of their helicopter crash, Kobe Bryant’s widow told a court on Friday that she was devastated. According to the report of GMA news, she filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County for unspecified millions of dollars in damages, joining Chris Chester’s case, whose wife and daughter also died in the collision. Invasion of privacy and negligence are alleged in the lawsuits.

Attorneys claim that the gruesome cellphone images were taken as “souvenirs” by emergency personnel who had no business taking shots. Chester expressed his shock in the Los Angeles courtroom when he learned about the photos one month after the tragedy, including the fact that they had been displayed at a bar and an awards ceremony.

The report mentioned that, the civil lawsuit, which started on Monday, is being defended by Mira Hashmall, who had stated that the subject of public distribution was crucial.
