Former Caretaker Stabs 2 Kids & Grandma in Cagayan Before Stealing Jewelry and Cash
Two kids passed away and a grandma suffered multiple injuries after being stabbed by their former caretaker in Cagayan.
Two young children identified as alias Marco and alias Marie have died after suffering multiple stab wounds while their 64-year-old grandma named Evelyn Perez suffers serious injuries due to a crime that happened inside their home in Sta. Teresita, Cagayan. Perez is a former principal and entrepreneur in the town.
According to the police investigation, the suspect Gerry Genova is a former caretaker of Perez’s farm. The elderly woman heard a noise in the kitchen and decides to close and lock the door.
Unfortunately, the suspect entered Perez’s room and stabbed her several times. The heartless culprit also stabbed the two children after they woke up due to the commotion inside the room.
“Pero pagbalik niya doon sa kanilang kwarto, andoon na ‘yung suspek na nasa katamtamang pangangatawan, nakasuot ng itim a bonnet at walang awing pinagsasaksak ang matanda,” Cagayan PPO, PIO PCPT. Isabelita Gano said.
Genova handcuffed the lady senior citizen and immediately escaped after stealing some cash and jewelry from the victim.
The police authorities launched a hot pursuit operation and raided the suspect’s home. The cops also recovered a sling bag from the suspect containing the stolen jewelry. The culprit has been brought to the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound during the operation.
The cops learned from Genova’s partner that the latter is struggling financially, which prompted him to commit a crime. Genova will face multiple charges because of his crime.
