Honest TNVS Driver Earns Praises For Returning Bag w/ P1.6-M Left by His Passenger
An honest TNVS driver earned praises and admiration after returning the lost P1.6 million accidentally left by his passenger.
A Grab driver identified as Juan Carlos Martin has shown an act of honesty after returning the lost cash he found in his vehicle. The huge amount of cash has been left by his lady passenger who is a foreign national.
The honest man narrated that foreigner booked a trip from a condominium in Parañaque City to a mall in Pasay City. The woman placed a bag containing the money in his vehicle and told him to give it to her friend.
“Siyempre akala ko po may naiwanan. Bumalik po ako. Pagbalik ko po, bigla po siyang bumaba. Ang iniwan niya lang na salita, ‘Give it to my friend.‘ Martin said.
He also approached two Chinese nationals thinking it was the lady’s friends but the foreigners did not pick up the luggage. Eventually, the latter realized that the two Chinese were the passengers who booked the trip.
The driver learned that the woman took the wrong vehicle and immediately sought help from his company and police authorities. He brought and surrendered the bag to the Manila Police District.
“Humingi na lang ako ng tulong sa company na pinagtatrabahuhan ko … pagdating po du’n … sa Makati, sarado na ata nu’ng time na ’yun … Papunta na ako sa Marikina, tumawag po ako sa kaibigan kung pulis na humingi po ako ng tulong. Sabi ko ano ba ang gagawin ko may naiwang pera sa akin malaking pera,” Martin added.
Martin did not hesitate to return the lost cash to the owner. It was not his first time returning lost items such as mobile phone and wallets.
