PING LACSON – Former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson trends online because of these stories from people he blocked online.

Former presidential aspirant and senator Panfilo “Ping” LacsonĀ became a trending topic on Twitter. The main reason behind it? It was when a post asking people online about famous celebrities who blocked them went viral.

It turned out that many netizens got blocked by Lacson which generated thousands of posts containing stories of why they were blocked by the politician. Many netizens shared their story and mostly, they were blocked immediately after commenting negative remarks on his posts.

Some also got blocked because they present an argument not agreeing with his stand on certain issues. While they found this funny, many also got amused because the total number of people Lacson blocked on social was pretty large.

Meanwhile, Lacson, as a senator, served the country for three terms: from 2001 to 2013 and from 2016 to 2022. He was Philippine National Police’s Director General from 1999 to 2001. During his tenure as PNP’s Director General, he instituted various reforms and was known for his anti-corruption campaigns.

He ran for president twice: in 2004 and 2022.

Lacson is best known for his anti-Jueteng campaign. There were operators who tried to bribe him before but he rejected them and revealed them. He was offered Php 1.2 million a month and he said no to this and went all-out in his mission to terminate jueteng.
