Sen. Ping Lacson’s Platforms If He Wins President & Accomplishments

PING LACSON’S PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and his plans if he wins the May 2022 Elections.

Ten (10) candidates are vying for the presidency in the upcoming May 2022 Elections. One of them is incumbent Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson Sr.

Personal Background:

Sen. Ping Lacson was born in Imus, Cavite on June 1, 1948. He is the son of a market vendor, Maxima, who is a disciplinarian. He grew up wanting to be an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) but he was invited by his classmate to take the entrance examination at the Philippine Military Academcy and he passed. He graduated in 1971 and was commissioned in the Philippine Constabulary (PC). He got his Master’s Degree in Government Management at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Lacson is married to Alice de Perio. Their marriage is blessed with four (4) children including Panfilo “Pampi” Lacson Jr., the former husband of actress Jodi Sta. Maria.

Accomplishments:

Sen. Ping Lacson served as the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the term of former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada. He is notable for his accomplishment in reducing the corrupt policemen in PNP. Prior to serving as the PNP Chief, he was a lieutenant colonel of the PC-Metrocom team that rescued the daughter of the late business tycoon John Gokongwei Jr. Jueteng and other crimes were also his targets when he was in PC. He is the principal author of the following laws:

  • Republic Act No. 9163, The National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001
  • Republic Act No. 9166, An Act Increasing the Base Pay of the members of the AFP
  • Republic Act No. 9208, The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003
  • Republic Act No. 9416, Anti-Cheating Act of 2007
  • Republic Act No. 9484, The Philippine Dental Act of 2007
  • Republic Act No. 9485, Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007

  • establishment of the annual Local Development Fund for local government unit’s assistance in implementing developmental plans
  • exemption of public officials from the privacy protection under the Bank Secrecy Act
