Will Willie Revillame return to the noontime slot?
Veteran TV host Willie Revillame shared his thoughts on competition between noontime shows in the Philippines.
Willie hosted the defunct Kapamilya noontime show Magandang Tanghali Bayan or MTB. When he transferred to TV5, his noontime show was titled Wowowillie. For his stint in the Kapuso network, his variety show Wowowin was in the primetime slot.
Now that he has signed a contract with Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), he was asked if his variety show will return to the noontime slot. In an interview, based on the article in PEP, Willie Revillame said that they are still studying this.
It is still unsure whether his show will be on noontime or primetime. “Right now, inaayos pa namin ni Ms. Beth. Pinag-aaralan namin ano yung mas magiging maganda sa noontime or prime time,” the veteran host shared.
He also shared that they are still in the process of negotiating with artists and talent management agencies. The only concrete information that he can give right now is that his variety show will air on AMBS.
Willie admitted that tight competition between noontime shows because he has experience this. “Mahirap talagang makipag-compete sa mga noontime show, pinagdaanan ko lahat iyan. Sino ilalagay mong host, sinong artista, anong concept. Kailangan mo ng writers, pero lahat ng ito, hopefully, awa ng Panginoong Diyos, e, mai-aayos natin,” he said.
They are also conceptualizing other show formats. He shared that AMBS will have an early show for mothers before the noontime show. Kuya Wil also revealed that they already talked with some artists but they can’t divulge their identities for now because there is nothing final yet.
Willie Revillame said that he and AMBS President Maribeth Tolentino are the ones planning the programs of the network owned by business tycoon Manny Villar. Kuya Wil also said that they would ask approval from the chairman about the programming but they were told, “Kayo nakakaalam niyan, e.”
