Willie Revillame Officially Signs w/ AMBS, Wowowin Will Return?

It seems like Wowowin will soon return to free TV as Willie Revillame officially signs with AMBS.

WILLIE REVILLAME – Well-loved game show host Willie Revillame officially signed with AMBS and will soon have a program on the new network.

Wilfredo Buendia Revillame is the “Kuya Wil” we all love more popularly knows as Willie Revillame. We all know the rags-to-riches story of the game show host. He started from being a drummer and notched roles as a sidekick in many films.

But despite being a comedian, he is most loved by many for being a host – the ever-so-generous and loving host to people who are in need. He used to have a game show in ABS-CBN but due to some issues, he decided to leave and transfer to the GMA network.

Last February 11, 2022, however, his game show on Kapuso network aired its final episode. It was an emotional farewell to everyone, most especially to his viewers. The end of the popular variety show saddened many and the host’s contract also ended.

Wowowin premiered on GMA in May 2015 and it is popular for its easy and various game segments with generous cash prizes.

But just recently, it has been confirmed that he signed a contract to a new network. He signed with Advanced Media Broadcasting Systems (AMBS) and this probably means he is not just the only one coming back to free TV but as well as his game show.

Maribeth Tolentino, the president of AMBS, said that Willie’s show in their network doesn’t have an official position or title yet. According to the report from PEP, their priority for now is to give job opportunities for people who lost it when ABS-CBN network shut down.

They also would like to accept other personalities who aspire to have a spot in the broadcasting industry.

AMBS was granted by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to use the frequencies ABS-CBN was using before the denial of franchise renewal bid. This is Manny Villar’s new company and was granted a 25-year franchise to operate and they will be using channel 16.
