Motorcycle Rider Shot by Cyclist During Traffic Altercation in Imus, Cavite

A motorcycle rider passed away after he was shot by a cyclist due to a traffic altercation in Imus, Cavite.

Nowadays, road rage incident is one of the most common problems happening in various countries all around the world. It usually causes trouble to involved individuals and resulting to traffic congestion along the road.

Hot-headed and short-tempered motorists are the most involved in traffic altercations. The authorities also advised the drivers to be more careful and observe maximum tolerance when driving.

A 23-year-old rider identified as Jonas Dela Cruz passed away after suffering gunshot wounds while traveling along Imus, Cavite. The incident allegedly started due to a traffic altercation.

The victim was slowly driving along the road when he suddenly collapsed after being shot by a cyclist identified as Erwin Samaniego. The suspect immediately escape after the incident but the authorities were able to locate and identify him with the help of CCTV footage.

The police authorities recovered a magnum cal. 22 from Samaniego, which he used to shoot the rider. Dela Cruz has been rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment and medication but he eventually passed away.

“May isang tama siya roon sa may pisngi na tumagos doon sa ulo niya,” Imus Cavite PNP Chief of Police P/L. Col. Jum Alamo said.

According to Samaniego, the rider allegedly disrespected and nearly side-swept him. He lost his patience and shoot Jonas without any hesitation. The suspect will face charges of murder.

“Kaya ko lang ho nagawa yun kung hindi ako minura ng ganun at ginitgit sa kalye,” Samaniego said.
