Russian President Vladimir Putin Denies Russia Responsibility If Global Food Crisis Occurs
VLADIMIR PUTIN – The Russian President denied that Russia has responsibility over the possible global food crisis.
Countries across the globe now are dealing with several global challenges – the pandemic and the oil problem among others. It has been over two years now since the pandemic that cost millions of lives across the globe started. The threats are still present and European nations recently logged an increase on their daily cases.
World Health even warned that “high levels” of COVID may be recorded in summer in Europe. The international health body reminds countries not to be complacent amid the easing of restrictions.
The other global problem is oil. Several nations now have insufficient oil supply. The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine is seen as a factor in the global oil problem.
With regards to the possibility of global food crisis, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin denied that his country has the responsibility over it. Speaking to Indonesian leader Joko Widodo, the Russian leader stressed that they have not put any restrictions on the export of fertilizers or food products.
Putin also expressed that Moscow does not hinder the export of Ukrainian wheat. According to him, the looming global food crisis should be warned on Western sanctions charged on Russia saying they made it difficult to deliver certain products across the nation.
Based on the report, Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin said that Moscow will allow the vessels of Ukraine loaded with food products to leave if the military of Ukraine demined its ports. However, Kyiv reportedly, refused on it.
On the part of Russia, the country cannot sell its crops and fertilizers due to the Western sanctions. Several companies condemned Russia for its move against Ukraine.
