Russian Foreign Minister Reacts to Claims Pres. Putin Is “Ill”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke on the health of Russian President Vladimir Putin amid speculations.

One of the most popular presidents across the globe is Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is not only leading one (1) of the three (3) countries considered the “superpowers” but he is also known for his way of leading his country. His leadership is usually compared to an “iron fist”.

However, recently, there were speculations that Putin is ill. The speculations came amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine with the former being globally condemned for its invasion of the latter. A lot of people are calling for the Russian President to stop the attacks.

President Vladimir Putin’s health and his private life are among the things that are not usually discussed in public despite being a national leader. Recently, amid speculations that he is ill, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the Russian President’s health.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov put down the speculations that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ill. He stressed that the Russian leader who will be turning 70 years old this October appears in public “every day”.

Lavrov further stressed that the people can “watch him on screens, read and listen to his speeches” and he does not believe that “sane” individuals can see some kind of illness or ailment in the Russian President. According to him, he is leaving it on the conscience of those who are spreading the rumors.

Currently, Russia is dealing with condemnation from several other countries and giant business brands due to its invasion of Ukraine. A lot of brands and product companies decided to stop their operation in Russia as a form of showing their disagreement with its move against Ukraine. Giant fast-food chain McDonald’s has decided to sell all its businesses in Russia.
