Senator Imee Marcos Speaks on Marcoses and Dutertes
Senator Imee Marcos referred to her family, the Marcoses, as an ally “for life” of the Dutertes after Vice President-elect Sara Duterte‘s inauguration.
The term of the current and outgoing administration is about to end this June 30. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines, will step down from his position and will be succeeded by president-elect Bongbong Marcos.
According to the 77-year-old President, he will return to being a private citizen after June 30. While the incoming administration has previously expressed its openness to having the outgoing President as one of the Cabinet members, it also stressed that no official offer was made yet.
Pres. Duterte’s eldest daughter, outgoing Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, was elected as the next vice president. She recently had her oath-taking in her hometown and it was attended by the Dutertes and Marcoses.
Aside from president-elect Bongbong Marcos and his wife and son, Senator Imee Marcos was also present at the oath-taking of vice president-elect Sara Duterte. The Marcoses and Dutertes shared the same stage.
After vice president-elect Sara Duterte took her oath as the 15th vice president of the Republic of the Philippines, Sen. Imee Marcos expressed their family’s support to the Dutertes. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she described the Marcoses-Dutertes as allies for life.
According to the Senator, the Dutertes can count on their family and stressed that Mindanao will always be a priority just like it was during the time of his father. Based on the report, the Senator stressed that there are both Solid North and Solid South because the Dutertes and Marcoses are allies “for life”.
“Solid North nga dahil Ilokano kami pero Solid South din dahil kaakibat natin at kaalyado ang mga Duterte habang buhay,” Senator Imee Marcos said.
