Sen. Manny Pacquiao Submits SOCE Revealing his Total Election Campaign Expenses
MANNY PACQUIAO – The Elections 2022 presidential candidate revealed his total expenses during the campaign period.
Senator Pacquiao is one of the candidates for president during the Elections 2022. He was the standard-bearer of PROMDI and he ran alongside Representative Lito Atienza, the party’s vice-presidential bet. Amid the series of speculations and rumors that he will back out from the presidential race, the Senator pushed through until the election day.
Shortly after he confirmed his presidential bid in 2021, Sen. Pacquiao bid goodbye to his boxing career. The champion in multiple divisions placed the Philippines on the map of boxing with his victories that brought honor and pride to the country.
It is no secret to the public that most of the riches of Sen. Pacquiao are from his successful boxing career. He is the second-most wealthy senator in the country with a net worth of Php 3.18 billion in 2020.
However, the results of the Elections 2022 did not favor Sen. Pacquiao. Meanwhile, he was 3rd on the list and he garnered at least 3,663,113 votes.
Following the election, both the losing and the winning candidates must submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditure (SOCE). It will reveal the contributions they received in both cash and in goods from different sources and their total spending.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Manny Pacquiao has submitted his SOCE. It revealed his total campaign expenses during the Elections 2022 at more than P119 million. Around half of the said amount is from his personal funds.
According to the boxer-turned-Senator, he received P56.4 million worth of contributions – P7.75 million in cash and P48.7 million as in-kind contributions. Over P62.6 million of his expenses came from his personal funds.
