Iligan City Residents Found Newborn Baby Wrapped in Bedsheet w/ Umbilical Cord

ILIGAN CITY – A newborn baby wrapped in a bedsheet with umbilical cord still attached has been found in Iligan City.

Earlier this week, the residents of Purok 18A, Barangay Tomas Cabili in Iligan City found a newborn infant abandoned along the highway. The baby has been abandoned by two persons on board a motorcycle.

The two persons leave an item wrapped in a bedsheet beside the road and immediately leave the area, according to Barangay Captain Cesarve Siacor. Initially, the residents did not mind the item until they heard a cry.

The residents found the baby who has been wrapped in a bedsheet with an umbilical cord still attached. The kind-hearted people rushed the infant to the Gregorio Lluch Memorial Hospital for immediate medication attention.

The poor baby is under medical observation after having a checkup. The cops will investigate the incident to identify and locate the parents who may face charges for abandoning an innocent baby.
