The agency usually conducts clearing operations with the aim to remove all obstructions along the road and anything that could cause inconvenience.

MMDA wants to remove and collect all the campaign materials across the National Capital Region this week. They aim to clear the walls from campaign paraphernalia.

The agency was able to collect over 470 tons of campaign materials as of May 16, which were used during the campaign period for 2022 local and national elections.

The environmental groups have warned the public that the amount of garbage from campaign materials may cause flooding in some parts of the country since the rainy season has already started.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government also asked the Filipino people to report any campaign materials that are still posted. DILG explained that the deadline for the removal of posters has already lapsed.

DILG will also send a notice to the local government units that will fail to remove all campaign materials, according to DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III.
