Prof. Clarita Carlos has this assignment for Frankie Pangilinan
University of the Philippines Professor Clarita Carlos reacted to the statement of celebrity Frankie Pangilinan that she can’t accept former Senator Bongbong Marcos to be her president.
Frankie is the daughter of vice-presidential candidate Senator Kiko Pangilinan and Megastar Sharon Cuneta. She actively campaigned for the Leni-Kiko tandem and the partial and unofficial count did not sit well with her.
Frankie joined the rally of fellow Kakampinks on May 10 as they are opposing the result showing that the UniTeam tandem of BBM and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is leading with more than half of the votes that the Leni-Kiko tandem got.
In her statement, she believes that the election was already bought a long, long time ago and she can’t open her arms to accept the fact that there will be another Marcos who will lead the Philippines.
“I’m not going to have my president be named Marcos again! Ever! We all know what’s right and wrong. If we are not here to stand up, if we are not here to fight, eh ano pa ang ginagawa natin dito sa Pinas?” Frankie Pangilinan said.
Prof. Clarita Carlos shared on Facebook an art card featuring this statement of the daughter of Kiko Pangilinan and Sharon Cuneta. In the caption that the UP professor wrote, she asked Frankie to write an essay to explain her point.
“My dear child…I hear you… but I need to understand where you are coming from…can you write a 5,000 word essay defending your declaration? Thank you,” the professor wrote.
This post of Clarita Carlos received various reactions from netizens. Kakampinks defended Frankie and one netizen even said that she can write an essay longer than 5,000 words. However, there were also those who slammed the celebrity and said that she is full of hate.
