Ruffa Gutierrez Speaks About Daughters' Relationship With Their Father

Here’s what Ruffa Gutierrez said about Yilmaz Bektas talking with their daughters.

Beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez and Yilmaz Bektas got their marriage annulled 10 years ago. And recalling this event in her, the beauty queen-actress expressed based on a previous article, “Not everyone is going to stay forever but I still have to keep on going and thank them for the life lessons that made me the woman I am today.”

10 years ago, she had her freedom back and her journey then was bittersweet. The split was painful but what she went through with him was even more painful. They have two daughters, Lorin and Venice who stayed with her when they separated.

And when it comes to her former husband’s communication with their daughters, she said that she has allowed it. She believes that her teenage daughters are now mature and of the right age to face their father and patch things up. The Turkish businessman is their real father after all.

She recently shares that last Holy Week, Venice and Bektas were able to talk. Through his sister who is in contact with her, she was told, ‘Yilmaz had a dream about Venice last night. He’s just asking how’s Venice, and he wants to talk to her’.

Ruffa added, “So, I told Venice, and Venice was, you know, quite upset. And she said, ‘Mommy, give my number. I wanna talk to him. I’m already 17 years old and I think it’s about time that we have a direct communication.’”

She narrated that in the phone call, Venice initially posed a strong facade through her voice but it only took a few words from her father that made her break into tears. And for her, it’s an indication that the pain is still there in them.

Ruffa feels like it’s now time for them to reconcile and she hopes that they could reconcile soon. She doesn’t want to be a part of the reconciliation but she wishes that this could be a way for her daughters to heal.

The former beauty queen also said based on a report from PEP, “Sana kung may trauma man sila, matanggal yun. Maybe one day, pag magkita sila ng daddy nila, I think that’s the only time na mawawala na lahat ng pain and trauma.”
