DepEd Declares Class Suspension Starting 12 noon on Holy Wednesday (April 13, 2022)

WALANG PASOK – The Department of Education (DepEd) has declared a half-day work on Holy Wednesday (April 13).

On Wednesday (April 13, 2022), DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones has declared the suspension of classes starting 12:00 pm. The announcement has been made through Memorandum No. 031 to allow the employees and students to prepare for the upcoming holidays.

Deped said that the class cancellation will give both officials and teaching and non-teaching personnel to prepare for the two religious holidays (Holy Thursday and Good Friday).

However, the units and offices involved in emergency services are required to render service when necessary.

The memorandum was addressed to undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, regional directors, schools division superintendents, public elementary and secondary school heads as well as all others concerned.

The Department of Education issues DepEd Memorandum No. 31, s. 2022 or the Suspension of Work (Half-Day) in the Department of Education on April 13, 2022.

To give sufficient time for all DepEd officials and employees (teaching and non-teaching personnel) to prepare for the observance of Holy Thursday and Good Friday, work in all DepEd offices and schools is suspended starting at 12:00 p.m. today, April 13, 2022.”
