Jinggoy Estrada took an effort to rebrand himself
UniTeam senatorial candidate Jinggoy Estrada revealed that vice-presidential aspirant Mayor Sara Duterte helped him change his public image.
Just like celebrities, politicians have certain public images that they have to take care of and nourish. For the 2022 elections, Jinggoy did a rebranding. Based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the prominent politician said that he got help from their team’s VP bet.
He shared that now, he has his own PR or public relations team. Jinggoy Estrada said that he used to wear “chaleko,” a typical outfit for politicians, and Sara Duterte told him to ditch this kind of getup.
“Pinatanggal niya sa akin yung jacket, pina-ahit niya sa akin yung bigote. Para raw lumambot yung mukha ko sa tao. Kasi pag may bigote, medyo brusko ang dating ko. Sabi niya mag t-shirt ka na lang. Sabi ko, ma’m, how can I conceal my fats? Modesty aside, I look younger,” the son of former President Erap Estrada said.
When asked about his views on the current national campaign, Jinggoy said that it’s almost the same as the time he started his first national campaign in 2004. However, he pointed out that the rates of advertisements nowadays are very much higher than years ago.
The 59-year-old politician said that he believes in pre-election survey results as this can be a guide for candidates. “I’m a survey believer because they analyze where you stand. They analyze kung saan ka malakas at mahina. Tinitignan natin lahat yan,” Jinggoy Estrada said.
In politics, especially this current election season, friendships and various kinds of relationships have been affected but Jinggoy believes that his friendship with Sharon Cuneta and Kris Aquino will go beyond their political beliefs.
