This is why Herlene Budol will join this local pageant.
HERLENE BUDOL – “Hipon Girl” Herlen Budol is joining Bb. Pilipinas pageant and these are the reasons that pushed her to do it.
One of the prestigious beauty pageants we have is Binibining Pilipinas pageant. In every competition held annually, four new queens are crowned to represent the country in four big international pageants. The crowns at stake are Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Globe, and Miss Intercontinental.
And one of those who is planning to join is Herlene Budol a.k.a Hipon Girl. Her new manager was accordingly the one who motivated her to go for it. Accordingly, her new manager saw great potential in her. If she won’t have the crown, the greatest takeaway for her would be lessons and a boost to her self-confidence.
She does training already and what she’s mostly focusing on is her English speaking skills. Many have bashed her for this ambition for her but she had heard the worst already. She believes that she can do it. And for those who said that she doesn’t deserve a spot, this is her message for them:
“Wala namang pinipili yun. Hindi ka naman sumali dun para may patunayan sa iba, dapat may patunayan ka muna sa sarili mo. Kasi para ma-improve po yung self-confidence, yung kung paano ang mali sa akin maitama.”
She still gets hurt by the negative comments thrown at her but she brushes off negativities in her life as much as possible. The bashers are among her inspirations to do better.

Meanwhile, last February 2022, the BBP announced that the search is on for this year’s edition to crown a “new batch of young and empowered queens who will promote beauty and advocacy on the beauty pageant stage”.
Those who wish to join have until April 8 to send their application forms.
