PAGASA Says Easterlies to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of Ph

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the easterlies would bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Friday (April 1, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Easterlies will be affecting the Eastern section of the country while the Northeast Surface Windflow will be affecting extreme Northern Luzon.

The easterlies will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The easterlies/localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are also expected during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.

Meanwhile, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the effect of La Niña is expected to weaken this April. The sea condition will return to normal condition on June when the rainy season starts.

“Asahan pa rin ang epekto ng La Niña ngayong buwan ng Abril hanggang Mayo 2022. However, aasahan po na magiging mahina na ito, so ibig sabihin hindi na natin masyadong mararamdaman ang higit sa normal na dami ng mga pag-ulan,” Estareja said.
