VICO SOTTO – Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto posted his handwritten answers to a student’s homework during a barangay caucus.

Vico Sotto comes from an influential family. He is the son of veteran actors Coney Reyes and Vic Sotto, and nephew of Senate President Tito Sotto III.

The 32-year-old politician is the 20th and incumbent mayor of Pasig City. He is known for being an honest, innovative, and hard-working politician.

When he was elected as mayor, Vico Sotto launched a crackdown on corruption in the city hall. In February, the US named him as one of its 12 global “anti-corruption champions.”

He is now seeking another term to head the city. His running mate is former basketball player Dodot Jaworski.

Recently, a second-year public administration student reached out to Vico Sotto on Twitter. The student asked him about the planning process of local government units.

On Tuesday, March 29, Vico Sotto shared his answers to a student’s homework during a barangay caucus. In a Twitter post, he said: “Ito na! Napasulat tuloy ako ng essay habang nasa caucus. DILG MC No. 2019-72 ‘yung tinutukoy ko. Good luck sa assignment!”

Vico Sotto shared a photo of the notebook handed to him during the caucus in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City with his written answers.

“Ordinary citizens should take advantage of the mechanisms for participation that the government has to offer. Brgy. level – Brgy. assemblies, development councils; City level – join or form NGOs / CSOs, get accredited by the LGU, participate in the selection of the NGOs/CSOs for the local special bodies such as the city development council, etc.,” he wrote.

Vico explained that the City Development Council is where the Local Government Units (LGU) budget passes before going to the Sanggunian. He also apologized for his handwriting.
