Is it true that Willie Revillame wants to go back to GMA?
Wowowin host Willie Revillame reportedly sending feelers to GMA chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon to give him new project as his supposed stint in billionaire businessman Manny Villar’s media company is not taking a step forward yet.
Willie, after almost seven years of doing his game show in the Kapuso network, decided not to renew his contract. He said that his negotiation with Villar’s Advanced Media Broadcasting Network was his reason for turning down the contract renewal contract from GMA.
Rumors surfaced that Kuya Wil will be handling an executive position in the network that was able to acquire the previously ABS-CBN-owned frequency.
However, based on the article in Bilyonaryo, a source revealed that Willie Revillame is trying to sway his former boss more than a month after he chose not to continue his show on GMA.
It was said that Willie is frustrated that his much-talked-about transfer to AMBS did not go smoothly. The source said that Villar’s network is having a hard time attracting artists and organizing programs.
Aside from these, the source said that AMBS also lacks infrastructure needed by a media company like transmitters and studios. Villar’s company was supposed to buy the transmitter of Lopezes and the family behind ABS-CBN has already sold the transmitters to TV5 and Globe.
“He has lost his biggest source of income. He’s still rich but even he knows he can’t sustain his lifestyle forever especially after recently buying a new yacht,” the source said.
Willie Revillame has resumed Wowowin through the show’s social media platforms. However, based on the report, his earnings now is way below the earnings that he had in the Kapuso network.
“Gozon felt betrayed that Revillame chose Villar over him after giving Willie one of the biggest TV contracts. Look what happened to Angel Locsin who left GMA for ABS-CBN? Gozon never forgets,” the source revealed.
