Willie Revillame revealed why he turned down the contract with GMA-7
Wowowin host Willie Revillame broke his silence on his decision to leave GMA and the meeting that he had with billionaire businessman Manny Villar.
For these past few days, the announcement about the end of Willie’s stint in the Kapuso network caught the attention of many showbiz fans and avid viewers of his game show.
It was announced that Wowowin’s last day of airing on GMA was on February 11. There were speculations that the Kapuso network did not offer Willie Revillame a contract renewal. In his show, the veteran TV host clarified that the contract has been with him for a month already but he has not signed it.
He revealed that it was in August 2021 when his contract with GMA first expired but it was renewed for another six months. When this expired in February this year, GMA offered him another contract for another year.
However, Willie wrote to GMA CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon honestly told the TV executive about the opportunity that was offered to him. The TV host admitted that this decision saddened him and caused him sleepless nights.
Kuya Will also shared a glimpse of his conversation with Manny Villar who visited him at home with Representative Camille Villar. The businessman told that host that there is already a franchise and frequency. Previously, it was reported that the former Senator’s Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. was able to acquire the frequency that was once assigned to ABS-CBN.
Willie Revillame said that there are still so many things to do in starting this TV network. He also debunked the allegation that he is already pirating artists from other networks.
