18-Year-Old Student Dies of Hazing in Laguna

An 18-year-old student from Kalayaan, Laguna reportedly passed away due to hazing or initiation rites of a fraternity.

The young victim identified as Reymarc Rabutazo of Barangay Longos, Kalayaan, Laguna has been declared dead-on-arrival by General Cailles Hospital in Pakil, Laguna. Reymarc is allegedly a victim of hazing.

According to the report of Kalayaan Municipal Police Station, the cops received an information that someone has been found dead after drowning in river. The police officers found out that the latter is a hazing victim.

The victim’s grandma even urged the police officers to bring her grandson to the hospital. Unfortunately, the poor teenager did not make it and passed away after suffering hematoma on his legs.

Kalayaan Municipal Police Station has also asked permission to perform an autopsy to the victim’s body. The cops believe that Rabutazon underwent on hazing or initiation rites of Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity.

The police officers said that several members and officials of Tau Gamma Phi in Kalayaan, Laguna are cooperating with them.

Unfortunately, several individuals have already died after suffering serious injuries due to hazing. It is often prohibited by law or prohibited by institutions such as colleges and universities.
