Bituin Escalante stressed that her support for VP Leni is for free
Singer Bituin Escalante defends Vice President Leni Robredo against accusations that there are “bayaran” in her campaign rallies.
Just like other top presidential bets in the 2022 elections, VP Leni and her team have been going around the country. She has started reaching out to voters from different provinces.
However, accusations surfaced that attendees of her rallies are receiving money. In line with this, Bituin Escalante, one of the celebrities who is endorsing the presidential candidacy of VP Leni Robredo said that this is not true.
Through a recent Twitter post, the singer addressed those politicians who are saying that those who are attending the rallies of the Vice President are being paid.
She said that this accusation from politicians is actually degrading for their constituents because they are accused of being “bayaran”. If this is really happening, Bituin said that the politicians should be blamed because this goes to show that they are not addressing the needs of their constituents properly.
“Wala pong bayaran sa mga rally ni Leni. Pumupunta po kami doon ng kusa o boluntaryo para sa bayan,” Bituin said. The singer also addressed those who are bashing her and other celebrities who are supporting VP Leni.
She said that comments like “laos” and “bituing walang ningning” do not affect her. “Dahil nabubuhay po kami ng marangal, nagbabayad po kami ng buwis,” the singer said adding that they also have to pay the fine when they pay their taxes later than the due date.
Bituin Escalante stressed that she is not alone as many of them are law-abiding citizens and that they also want a leader who follows the law.
