Concerned Netizen Shares Photo Green Water in Boracay Island

A concerned netizen who a local tourist has shared the photo of Boracay water after it turns green due to green algae.

Nowadays, Filipino people love to visit different tourist spots and beaches in the country, especially that summer is coming. Tourists love to visit beaches to relax and enjoy nature.

Boracay has been one of the most popular tourist spot in the Philippines. The government closed the famous haven a few years ago for cleanup and reopened it again to public with stricter policy to maintain the cleanliness of the island.

A Facebook user named Jhay-are Nabua Padilla has shared the photo of himself swimming at Boracay but some portion of the water turned green. The photo garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the photo, it can be seen that Padilla happily strike a pose while swimming at in front of Grotto Station 1, Boracay last February 14, 2022. However, the water at that portion turned green.

Padilla got surprised after seeing the green waters in the popular tourist destination. He also explained that all stations have green algae but deeper parts of the famous island’s waters have lesser algae.

The tour guides and boat personnel on the beach said that Puka Beach in Fairways and Blue Water as well as Tambisaan Beach have no algae.

“Sabi ng mga bangkero at tour guide doon pawala na raw ‘yan sa summer, pero sa Puka Beach sa Fairways and Blue Water at Tambisaan Beach po walang lumot,” Padilla said.
