For Isko Moreno a president should always be present
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said that these qualities should be possessed by the next president of the Philippines.
Running for a national position from his local position, the Mayor, fondly called Yorme, stressed that Filipinos should feel the presence of the leader that this country needs, especially during critical times.
Based on the report from Manila Bulletin, the presidential candidate of Aksyon Demokratiko said, “Hindi pupwede na ang presidente laging wala. Real talk tayo ha. Hindi pwedeng ang presidente laging absent.“
Moreno also stressed that coming from an excellent clan is not also a factor to be considered in choosing the next leader. He reminded the voters to choose the one who is proven to be there during the time of crisis and he even cited what Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky did while facing the attacks coming from their neighbor Russia.
“Tignan niyo ‘yung presidente ng Ukraine, nasaan? Nasa kalsada. Anytime pwedeng tamaan ng bomba,” Mayor Isko Moreno said. He asked if who among the leaders that people would always see on the street 24/7. “Ang gusto ba nating leader ‘yung magaling lang sa kwento pero walang kwenta?” the Manila Mayor asked also.
He stressed that he is not naming names. However, Yorme Isko maintained that people should choose a leader who they want to be with during tough times.
In an earlier statement, Mayor Isko Moreno said that debates are important as this will make the voters gauge the candidate who deserve to be elected. “Kayo po ngayon ang HR department, kami po ay aplikante sa trabaho. Gusto mo naman bang mag-hire ng isang empleyado na hindi mo nakausap, hindi mo nakita?” she said during the CNN Philippines debate.
