Guide on Alert Level 1 Restrictions in PH
ALERT LEVEL 1 – Here is a list of the restrictions implemented in Metro Manila and several other cities in the Philippines under this curb.
It is more than two (2) years now since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the Philippines and urged the Filipinos to live under the “new normal” setting. For a few years now, a lot of students remain under blended learning – the delivery of the lesson is through online classes and modules.
Several businesses were temporarily and permanently shut down amid the pandemic. The community quarantine measures which are needed to fight the spread of the virus limited their operations and many were not able to cope with the losses.
The closure of businesses further resulted in an increase in the unemployment rate in the Philippines. Many Filipinos lost their jobs amid the crisis. Meanwhile, the country is currently in the pursuit of recovery.
The daily COVID-19 cases in the Philippines have dropped thus the measures were eased which is also a way to help the economy recover from the crisis. Starting today, March 1, until March 15, the whole Metro Manila and several other cities in the country are under Alert Level 1 which is the loosest curb.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Metro Manila and several other cities are under minimal to low-risk classification with total bed utilization under 50%. The areas under Alert Level 1 are subject to the following restrictions:
- The wearing of face mask in both in-door and outdoor public areas must continue except when dining, playing sports in an area with sufficient ventilation, and exercising in an area where physical distancing is observed.
- All public and private offices and businesses may operate in a full capacity but there must be sufficient ventilation and proper hand-hygiene and sanitation facilities.
- The usage of contact tracing apps including plastic dividers and the implementation of alternative work arrangements is optional.
- There is no need for a temperature check and the listing on the declaration form upon entry to establishments.
- Full capacity in public transportation.
- Present proof of vaccination for individuals aged 19 above to join mass gathering or enter indoor establishments like movie theaters, live performance venues, hotels, etc.
- Present vaccination proof in joining pre-election related events.
