The entrapment operation against the suspect was set up on Velez St., according to Carmen Police Station commander Maj. Mario Mantala Jr. According to Mantala Jr., they got another allegation that the suspect was extorting non-uniformed personnel or NUP candidates in the region.
The suspect was paid P1,000.00 and P15,000.00 in marked money in return for working as a NUP. In the same case, Licayan was dismissed from service in 2019 and freed after paying P100,000.00 bail.
Meanwhile, officials have detained a guy who attempted to extort money from his former 60-year-old girlfriend in return for her not posting their private images and videos on the internet. According to the victim’s allegation, the suspect demanded P1 million from her and threatened to post their private images and videos on the internet unless she paid him.
To deceive the victim into believing he was the perpetrator of the extortion attempt he acted like he was also victimized, based on the report. To make it look that he, too, was being extorted, the suspect sent extortion texts to himself using a different sim card number.
