Shipment with Ecstasy, Maryjane Declared as Vitamins Seized in Pasay City
The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) has seized a shipment with illegal drugs ecstasy and Maryjane declared as vitamins.
At the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City, a combined squad of BOC-NAIA and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated P926,075 worth of ecstasy pills and cannabis oils. Through extensive analysis, it was discovered that a total of four shipments carrying illicit narcotics and substances had been confiscated.

The first cargo arrived from Germany, and the second arrived from the United States. The first, valued at P669,800, was revealed to contain 394 pieces of ecstasy tablets, based on the report.
The second package, meanwhile, was revealed to contain 425 grams of suspected cannabis and cannabis oils worth P247,200. Meanwhile, two other shipments containing cannabis oils claimed vitamins, and vape cartridges with cannabis extract were confiscated in FedEx and DHL Warehouses.
The PDEA was tasked with investigating the illicit narcotics collected. Meanwhile, the alleged consignee will face charges under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act as well as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
Meanwhile, the BOC Port of Cagayan de Oro recently destroyed a total of 2,027 master cases of contraband cigarettes worth PHP16 million. The YS Red, Titan Green, and Titan Red brands of cigarettes were shredded after being discovered in two different shipments from China labeled as “old furniture.”
