Father Trying to Bribe Police for the Release of His Daughter Arrested

Police authorities arrested a father who allegedly tried to bribe the police for the release of his daughter who was arrested for estafa.

At the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District (CIDU-QCPD) at Camp Karingal, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City, a parent was arrested after bribing the officers who apprehended his daughter with a significant sum of money. Donato De Jesus, 61, married, self-employed, and a resident of Tanza Uno, Navotas City, was identified as the suspect.

According to the report, Donato bribed the “Tambayan ng Tik-tik” at the CIDU within the camp around 12:10 p.m. yesterday. According to the inquiry, the suspect’s daughter Katherine was detained at 1:30 p.m. on February 23 in the case of estafa and robbery (extortion).

The suspect arrived at CIDU about 4:00 p.m. to help his daughter. Katherine allegedly offered P/SSg P200,000 while processing the arrest and booking document. Alvin Quisumbing in return for the robbery (extortion) charge against her being dismissed, but the police refused.

The next day, at 12 p.m., Donato returned to see his daughter in detention, spoke with Quisumbing, and paid P200,000 to have the robbery (extortion) charge against Katherine dropped. Quisumbing turned down Donato’s offer of a significant sum of money once more.

However, the cop were taken aback when he opened the brown envelope in front of him, displayed the amount, and handed it to him. As a result, Quisumbing detained his father and seized the money that had been provided and paid to him. The suspect is being held in custody while a case for Corruption of a Public Official is being prepared under RPC Art. 212.
