Sylvia Sanchez shares fear for the political stint of Arjo Atayde
This is the first time that Arjo will join the political arena and his parents are all-out support for him. In a recent interview on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Sylvia shared that for now, since Arjo is in lock-in taping, she and her husband Art Atayde are visiting the barangays in District 1.
The veteran actress admitted that if she is the one who will decide, she does not want Arjo Atayde to be in politics. However, she sees her son’s desire to help and so they are supporting him.
As a mother, Sylvia also admitted that she fears for her son’s safety as politics can be messy. However, when it comes to Arjo’s standing in the political arena right now, she is at ease.
“Takot ako para sa anak ko pero magiging matapang din a ko, at nagiging matapang ako para sa anak ko,” Sylvia said. The veteran actress also admitted one thing that brings “takot” to her and this is about her son’s good foundation.
She said that she does not want her son to change and become bad because of the power that he might have once he will be successful in politics. “Ayokong mabago ang anak ko dahil sa pulitika,” Sylvia Sanchez said.
When asked if there are people who convinced Arjo Atayde to just set aside his will to serve the people, the veteran actress said that there were those who told her son to just back out.
“May nakiusap kay Art, may nakiusap sa akin, may nakikiusap din sa mga kaibigan namin na pumapadrino na si Arjo talaga huwag nang patakbuhin sa District 1,” the veteran actress said.
However, Sylvia said that they will not be the one who will decide for this but her son and Arjo Atayde is very much decided to pursue his political stint.
