Sumilao Farmers Back the Presidential Bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo

SUMILAO FARMERS – A group of farmers in Bukidnon expressed their full support for Vice President Leni Robredo’s bid for the presidency.

The May 2022 Election is drawing near and the candidates for the national positions have started visiting cities and provinces to campaign. It was last February 8 when the campaign period began and proclamation rallies were held in different areas.

Several political groups and government officials have also aired their support to certain candidates. Several groups of people belonging to the same field have also made their stand regarding the upcoming poll.

Recently, a group of farmers in Bukidnon, the Sumilao farmers, expressed their full support to the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. She is running as an independent candidate who tapped Liberal Party’s vice-presidential bet, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, as her running-mate in the upcoming poll.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo visited Bukidnon again and the Sumilao farmers gave their support in her presidential bid. They had the re-enactment of the historical march of the farmers and their families in 2007 from their city to Manila to get back their ancestral land.

Vice Pres. Robredo was one of the lawyers of the alternative law group Saligan who helped the farmers get back their land. Panaw Sumilao Cooperative Pres. Bajekjek Orquillas said that they know the Vice President as a friend and as a mother.

Aside from the Sumilao farmers, groups of doctors, nurses, accountants, and other people belonging to the same field have expressed their support to the Vice President’s bid for president. Several church leaders also expressed their support to her and as well as actors and actresses in the showbiz industry.
