Arnel Pineda made a successful singing career but he went through these struggles
Journey frontman Arnel Pineda shared the struggles that he has to face being the vocalist now of a legendary rock band.
Arnel joined Journey in 2007 and with this, he was able to have the opportunity to make Filipinos proud of his international singing stint. However, as cliché as it may sound, he can’t please everybody.
There were those who does not like him as the current vocalist of the band that has become iconic over the years. Although there were avid fans of the band who accepted him, there were also those who bashed him, just like American talk show host Andy Cohen who said that the band is a “fake” Journey. Cohen also said that without Steve Perry, Journey is not Journey.
In a recent interview by comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz, Arnel Pineda shared that the bashings that he received were one of the struggles that he had to face as a vocalist of Journey.
The Pinoy singer said that he would hear people calling him “prosti” Perry. The bashings were additional struggles to him because of the fact that he was being hard on himself.
Behind the praises and good feedback that he would receive from his bandmates and fans, Arnel said that there are a few performances only that he can say he did well. He is always thinking that his performances were not good enough and so he would push himself to be better.
“I was really hard on myself up to now. I was never satisfied with my performance until now. Kaya nagtataka ako up to now ano’ng klaseng magic and ginagawa sa kung ano ‘yung naririnig nila,” Arnel Pineda shared as he is wondering why other people would love his performances with the band.
In the interview, the Pinoy singer also shared his life before he became a professional singer and the obstacles he had to go through before achieving the success he has now.
