Willie Revillame is saying goodbye to the Kapuso network
Wowowin host Willie Revillame is set to leave GMA-7 and veteran entertainment columnist Lolit Solis made a revelation about the contract between the host and the network’s management.
Last week, rumors surfaced that Kuya Wil will transfer to the network of business tycoon Manny Villar, frequencies previously owned by ABS-CBN. The said frequencies were bought by the Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. owned by the businessman.
Following this, GMA released an official statement saying that the last episode of Wowowin, Willie Revillame’s game show, will be on February 11 as the contract between the two parties has expired last January 15. “We wish him good luck in his future endeavors,” the network stated.
Lolit Solis shared this statement of GMA Network along with a revelation about the contract. She said that it is unfair on the part of the Wowowin host to be accused of just leaving the network that accommodated him for several years.
“The truth is hindi ni renew ang contract niya, infact nagbigay statement ang GMA7 na wala ng contract sa kanila si Willie kaya wish nila ito ng goodluck sa anuman endeavor na papasukin niya,” the veteran entertainment columnist said.
Lolit added that the network did not go after the veteran TV host and there was no other offer for him when their contract ended. She also thinks that Willie was surprised that there was no offer for him to renew his contract.
“Siguro nga ikinabigla ng lahat iyon mga pangyayari, pero ang maliwanag, tinapos ng GMA7 ang kontrata kay Willie at walang alok na bago kaya hayun, kailangan maghanap ng bagong bahay ang programa niya,” Lolit said.
Lolit added that by this she hopes that there will be no misconception that Willie Revillame chose Manny Villar over GMA Network. She also wished the TV host good luck for the future of his show on a new home network.
