Toni Gonzaga decided to end her hosting stint in Pinoy Big Brother
Actress-host Toni Gonzaga bids goodbye to her Pinoy Big Brother family and here is her official statement regarding this.
Toni has started her showbiz career in GMA-7 but it is a fact that her star shone brighter when she transferred to ABS-CBN. She was given big projects as a Kapamilya star that boosted her popularity.
Apparently, this is the reason why she has been receiving bashing these past few days. She is being accused of “walang utang na loob” because of her political views. Toni Gonzaga hosted the proclamation rally of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte’s UniTeam.
One of the senatorial aspirants in this group is Rep. Rodante Marcoleta who was one of the lawmakers who voted against ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal. Following that hosting stint of Toni at the proclamation rally, reports surfaced that she will end her hosting stint in Pinoy Big Brother.
On February 9, the actress-host posted her official statement regarding this matter on her Instagram account. She said that it has been her honor to host the Kapamilya reality show for 16 years.
“Today, I’m stepping down as your main host. I Know Bianca (Gonzalez) and the rest of the hosts will continue the PBB legacy,” Toni said. She also said that it has been her privilege to shout the iconic greeting “Hello Philippines and Hello World!”
The actress-host also thanked “Kuya” or “Big Brother” for everything. “This is your angel, now signing off…” Toni Gonzaga said.
Several celebrities showed love and support for her. However, there were also several celebrities who criticized her, as well as employees of the Kapamilya network who lost their jobs when the media giant was ordered to shut down.
