2 Blue-naped Parrots Confiscated from 2 Minors in Tawi-Tawi
Police authorities confiscated two (2) Blue-naped parrots when caught allegedly being sold by two minors in Tawi-Tawi.
Two blue-naped parrots were reportedly being sold by two adolescents in Tawi-Tawi, according to the Philippine National Police Maritime Special Operations Unit 1. The officers intervened after receiving information from a concerned citizen that the birds were being sold in Barangay Luuk, Bongao municipality.

The birds were seized because selling them is illegal under Republic Act No. 9147, also known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, according to the PNP Maritime SOU 1. Meanwhile, 4 live bearded dragons were caught in cargo from Malaysia by Bureau of Customs agents at the port of Clark.
Tupperware products were declared on the shipment. Authorities were exposed to suspicious photos when it was submitted to x-ray scanning on Thursday, January 27.
Two female and two male live bearded dragons contained in plastic containers were discovered during the physical assessment and opening of the package. A reptile, the bearded dragon is a species of reptile.
The alleged dragons were imported without a Sanitary and Phytosanitary Certificate or a Veterinary Health Certificate from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, according to the BOC inquiry (DENR). This is a clear violation of Section 118 (g), 119 (f), 1113 (l, j) and 1400 of R.A. No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) at R.A. No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.
