Leni Robredo believes that Philippines will suffer under BBM
Vice President Leni Robredo said that dark days of dictatorship will once again happen if her opponent, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, will win the presidency.
The presidential candidate of the opposition said this based on what happened during the administration of former President Ferdinand Marcos who put the Philippines under Martial Law.
Based on the report from Inquirer, the Vice President stressed during a recent presidential interview of DZBB that the 2022 elections are not just about her and BBM but it the kind of politics that the latter is representing.
“Ito kasi ‘yong dahilan kung bakit sinabi ko ‘to: everything they represent. Alam natin ‘yong pinanggalingan natin during the dictatorship, alam natin ‘yong sobrang korapsyon, alam natin ‘yong sobrang misgovernance, alam natin ‘yong klase ng pulitika na inumpisahan,” VP Leni Robredo said.
She also said that if another Marcos will become a president, the same scenario will happen. The Vice President stressed that the elections this year will determine the situation of the country and the Filipino people for the next six years.
“So iyon ‘yong paniniwala ko na ‘pag bumoboto tayo sa isang tao, hindi lang ‘yon kung sa akin o kay Marcos, pero kung anong klase ng pulitika saka pamamahala na inooffer nila sa taumbayan,” she said.
Last 2016, Robredo and Marcos Jr. also ran for the position of Vice President. The former won and this prompted the latter to file an election protest. This year, they are vying for the same presidential position.
VP Leni Robredo, based on the presidential survey in which she placed second with 20 percent while Bongbong Marcos got 53 percent, admitted that they still have a lot to do. She said that she did not prepare earlier than other candidates because initially, she was not planning to run for president.
