Leni Robredo will not retract her words against her opponents
As part of the said interview, aside from the pressing issues, those who are running for president were asked why their opponents should not be chosen by the voters.
When Senator Ping Lacson was asked, he did not say anything against other presidential candidates. The same thing happened when former Senator Bongbong Marcos was asked.
For the Vice president, there are reasons why voters should not vote for other candidates. She said that BBM is a liar while she said Lacson lacked action on the ground.
The Senator and his supporters reacted to this contradicting the statement of VP Leni Robredo. Lacson’s running mate, Senate President Tito Sotto, also rallied behind the presidential candidate. However, based on the report from One News PH, the second-highest elected official clung to what she said against her rivals.
“I don’t want to add further to the conversation. I know that I ruffled some feathers, but it was the question. I don’t want my response to sound evasive. It was the question, so I answered it,” the Vice President said. She also said, “I am ready to react to their reaction.” However, she said that it is necessary anymore to answer back.
On the other hand, the camp of Bongbong Marcos did not express any statement against the Vice President. BBM’s spokesperson Atty. Vic Rodriguez said that they will continue to adhere to their principle of not engaging in negative campaigning.
“What presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos is offering to the Filipino people is his unifying brand of leadership. He does not and will not engage in negative and hateful campaigning,” the spokesperson of BBM said.
