Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon To Release “Separate Opinion” at 2 PM

Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon Claims the Inclusion of her Opinion Is Prevented

COMELEC – Commission on Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon posted that she will release her separate opinion at 2:00 p.m. today.

Recently, the social media platforms were taken by storm after Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon made some claims regarding the consolidated petitions against former Senator Bongbong Marcos. The said petitions seek the disqualification of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer from the presidential race.

Three (3) consolidated petitions against Marcos Jr.’s presidential candidacy were raffled to the First Division which is a three-member body. Guanzon revealed that her fellow commissioner, Aimee Ferolino, is the ponente or the one who must write the resolution.

Guanzon claimed that they agreed to release the decision by January 17 but it was not met. According to her, she believes that there is allegedly a hand dipping on the issues that is why it is delayed. The Commissioner who is set to retire on February 2 revealed that she voted to disqualify Marcos Jr.

According to Guanzon, she believes there is moral turpitude on the tax conviction of Marcos Jr. and he must not be allowed to run for president. The Commissioner stressed that the PFP standard-bearer was not only convicted once but twice.

Guanzon gave Ferolino until Monday to release the resolution. On her part, Ferolino stressed that the action of Guanzon to reveal her as the ponente of the cases they are handling brings her risks. She also belied the claim of her fellow Commissioner that they agreed on a deadline for the resolution.

Recently, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon took to the social media another post containing her next move today. According to her, “they” allegedly do not want her separate opinion to be included so it will not reach the Supreme Court. She stated that she will release it today at 2:00 p.m.
