Fake NBI Agent & 2 Others Arrested For Violating Election Gun Ban
ELECTION GUN BAN – A fake NBI agent and two others have been arrested for violating the election gun ban in Cavite.
Several local government units are implementing gun ban and checkpoints until the end of the election period. Individuals are prohibited to carry firearms during this period of time. Violators could face corresponding sanctions and penalties.
Two individuals in Cavite have been arrested for violating the election gun ban policy in the area. A certain driver has been apprehended by the personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation at a checkpoint.
The checkpoint personnel in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite questioned the man after he was caught possessing a firearm despite the gun ban. Initially, he introduced himself as an agent of NBI.
Unfortunately, the authorities verified the suspect’s identification card and badge and found that they were fake. The culprit explained that the ID and badge were just handed to him by a friend.
The suspect John Angelo Gandionco regrets his actions. “Nagsisisi po ako dahil alam ko naman po na mali ako, pero alam ko naman sa sarili ko na hindi naman ako masamang tao o kriminal,” Gandionco said.
General Mariano Alvarez Police chief Maj. Gilbert Derla said that the fake NBI agent failed to present the necessary documents on his firearm at the vehicle.
“Kasi nga po nalalapit na po yung eleksyon natin, maganda nga po tong nangyari at least ang magdadala ng di otorisadong baril ay mahuhuli po natin,” Derla said.
