Vice Ganda talked about Ogie Diaz as his first manager
Vice has been in the entertainment industry for many years now. Prior to his success as one of the popular comedians nowadays, he was performing in comedy bars. At that time, other comedians were already starting to penetrate the mainstream media.
In a recent vlog of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo, Vice Ganda admitted that back then, he had a hard time getting his name to mainstream and so he needed a manager. “Hindi ako maka-penetrate sa mainstream and I thought at that time, I needed someone to help me. That means getting a manager,” he said.
The comedian-host understood that in order for him to be on a bigger platform, he needed a network and the right person to help him. Vice said that he really acknowledged that he needed help and fortunately, he got the help that he needed.
When Dra. Vicki asked him why he chose Ogie Diaz, the It’s Showtime host said that during his comedy bar days, the talent manager was one of his regular viewers. With this, Vice knew that Ogie was a fan. Then, the celebrity doctor shared that her husband Dr. Hayden Kho was also a regular viewer of Vice’s gigs.
Vice Ganda explained that if he would ask help from someone, he will go to the person who believes in him and that was Ogie Diaz, his first talent manager. “Kung hihingi rin naman ako, magpapatulong rin naman ako, doon na ako sa taong alam kong naniniwala sa akin,” the comedian-host said.
He added that he knew that Ogie could fight for him and would be able to manage him well and indeed that was what Vice got from his first talent manager.
