Bicol Region Confirms Over 700 New COVID-19 Cases

Update on Bicol Region COVID-19 Cases

BICOL REGION – The Department of Health (DOH) – Bicol recently confirmed more than 700 new COVID-19 cases amid a new surge.

The COVID-19 cases in the Philippines rose again following the holiday season. A lot of people went out during the holidays for the preparation of events and the celebrations themselves. Many individuals gathered in shopping malls and other public areas.

To fight the further spread of the virus, the national government decided to place the whole of Metro Manila under Alert Level 3. The authorities initially set the measure from January 3 to January 15 but extended it until the end of the month as it is still not certain if cases are going down.

There are strict limitations amid the implementation of Alert Level 3. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is currently implementing the “No Vaccine, No Ride” policy with some exemptions amid the new surge of the COVID-19 cases.
