Young Man Suffers Wounds and Injuries While His Minor Friend Dies For Trying to Avoid Checkpoint
QUEZON CITY – A young man suffered wounds and injuries while his 15-year-old friend passes away for trying to skip a checkpoint.
On early Wednesday (January 19, 2022), a 19-year-old guy suffered minor injuries while his 15-year-old companion died due to a road accident after trying to avoid a police checkpoint in Quezon City.
According to the police authorities, the checkpoint was set up on the corner of Banawe and Calamba Streets during the implementation of Oplan Sita. The cops were supposed to apprehend the two for not wearing a helmet.
Unfortunately, the two did not stop at the checkpoint and disobeyed the authorities. The two young men sped away tried to escape prompting the police officers to chase them.
The cops on duty reached Caloocan chasing the duo until they have learned that the two got into an accident.
The 19-year-old suspect said that his companion continue to drive while trying to escape from the cops. He tried to stop him but the latter did not listen. The cops recovered a caliber .38 pistol, which was thrown to the side of the road.

However, the suspect denied having a gun but admitted that they have no helmet. The duo came from their friend and heading to their village when the incident happened.
The young man will face disobedience and illegal possession of firearms complaints in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
